White Springs block party ends in fatal shooting

Jason Futch reporter2@riverbendnews.org A Lake City man was killed during a sanctioned block party in White Springs early Saturday, Jan. 3. The shooting happened at approximately 12:53 a.m. in the area of Mill Street and Adams Memorial Drive during the block party, which started on Friday, Jan. 2. When deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) arrived at the scene, they discovered 35 year old Lake City resident Tad Anderson Jr. unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite receiving aid from deputies and Hamilton County Fire Rescue personnel, Anderson died of his injuries. The investigation into Anderson’s death remains active. Sher
