The Suwannee County Voters League will host a “Meet the Candidates” forum on Monday, April 13, at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers of Live Oak City Hall, located at 101 White Ave. N.E.
Candidates seeking seats on the Live Oak City Council have been invited to participate in this public forum. In District One, incumbent Tommie Jefferson and challenger Robintina Reed are expected to appear. Other District One candidates Terry Richardson and Adam Collins have been invited. In District Four, incumbent Matt Campbell and Robert Brady Jr. have also been invited.
During the forum’s introductory session, each candidate will have the opportunity to outline their background, qualifications and perspectives on the offices they seek. A moderated question-and- answer session will follow. However, all public questions must be submitted in writing. This forum is offered to help residents meet the candidates and learn their positions, not to serve as a debate.
Unopposed mayoral candidate Frank Davis and city clerk candidate John Gill have also accepted invitations to address attendees with brief remarks on city matters.
The Suwannee County Voters League, a nonpartisan organization, continues its longstanding mission to promote civic engagement through community forums, voter registrations initiatives and Get-Out- the-Vote efforts.
Residents and concerned citizens are encouraged to attend and take advantage of this opportunity to hear directly from local candidates.
