Two White Springs residents among those honored at Quilts of Valor Presentation

Two White Springs residents were honored with handmade quilts during the Quilts of Valor program at the First Methodist Church in Lake City on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Michael Hankey, a retired U.S. Marine Corps Corporal, and Dennis Price, a former U.S. Navy seaman, were among 13 Veterans who were honored and gifted handmade quilts. Their families joined them as members of the Lady of the Lake Quilters Guild presented the quilts alongside the Columbia High School Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps color guard.
Hankey served in the US Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972, retiring with the rank of Lance Corporal. While serving in the Marine Corps
