Three Lafayette students show hens in Chick-Chain Show

By Ramsey Sullivan Riverbend News Three Lafayette 4-H members, Holland Jackson, Lanae Colson and Derby Sherrell, recently participated in a Tri-County Chick-Chain Show in Madison County. More than 28 4-H members from Madison, Lafayette and Taylor Counties participated in the event on Thursday, Nov. 19. The Chick-Chain Show is a program designed to help youth learn about how to raise baby chicks into mature production pullets. Participants in this show purchased their chicks in the Spring, specifically for this program.  This program helps kids learn about responsibility, the correct way to treat animals, biosecurity, record keeping and communication skills.
