Thomas L. “Tommy” McCray

Thomas Lester McCray, known as “Tommy” to his family and friends, 49, passed away on March 19, 2022, in Tallahassee, Fla. Tommy was born May 22, 1972, in Lake City, Fla., to Charles Wayman McCray and Dwala Louise Land McCray. He was a 1990 graduate of Lafayette High School, where he played on the varsity baseball team. He also attended Santa Fe Community College, where he played on the Santa Fe baseball team. In the years following, he played Class A travel league softball with several teams. He was of the Christian faith and attended the Alton Church of God. He worked as a Correctional Officer at Mayo Florida State Correctional for 27 years before his retirement. He then acquired his CD
