American Legion Riders from all over District 3 will converge on Post 291 this weekend in Steinhatchee, Fla., for the Fourth Annual American Legion District 3 Riders Bike Presentation.
Events will take place during the Fiddler Crab Festival on Saturday, Feb. 14, beginning at noon. Attendees will be able to enjoy raffle baskets, 50/50 drawings and a fish fry. Live music will be provided by The Bondsmen from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by the bike presentation at 3 p.m. The Bondsmen will begin performing again at 3:30 p.m.
Motorcycle parking will be available, and food truck vendors will be on-site throughout the event.
This year’s motorcycle is being presented by Wheels 4 Warriors, USA, to Stuart Scott, an Air Force Veteran dedicated to serving his fellow Veterans.
A poker run is also planned to coincide with the presentation. Registration will take place at American Legion Post 423, located at 250 N.E. Harrington Ct., in Lake City, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Kickstands will go up at 9:15 a.m. The cost to participate is $20 per bike and passenger.
The community is welcome to join this free event. American Legion Post 291 is located at 220 11th St. E., in Steinhatchee.
Additionally, Veterans interested in their own opportunity to receive a free motorcycle are in luck – applications for the next Bike for a Veteran giveaway are currently being accepted. The deadline to apply is midnight on Saturday, Feb. 28.
Interested Veterans can pick up an application from the Riverbend News office, located at 113 N.W. Duval St., in Live Oak.
