Third District American Legion Riders announce 2026 Bike for a Veteran recipient, Applications for next opportunity open until Feb. 28

Butch Deihl Contributor The American Legion Third District Riders announced the winner of their Bike for a Veteran giveaway during their bi-monthly district meeting on Saturday, Dec. 6, at American Legion Post 291 in Steinhatchee. The program offers a chance to provide "wind therapy" -- the promotion of stress relief, mental clarity, and social connections -- to a deserving Veteran through the donation of a refurbished motorcycle. Leading up to the meeting, District officers issued multiple calls, texts and emails to American Legion posts throughout the Third District requesting applications for the program.
