Samuel “Sammy” Charles McGauley, Sr.

Samuel "Sammy" Charles McGauley, Sr., 79, of Jennings, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 15, at Lake City Medical Center following a brief illness. McGauley was born in Jennings on Oct. 12, 1941, to the late Charles and Elizabeth Estelle Westberry McGauley. He worked most of his adult life in road construction for Ashland Oil Company and then later for the Hamilton County Road Department. McGauley loved to travel with his wife and his family. He enjoyed fishing and hunting as a young man, it just got a little harder as he aged. McGauley was a member of Truth Harbor Apostolic Church in Lake Park, Ga. He was a man of strong faith, one who loved to worship his God. He loved his pastor and prayed f
