Myrtice J. Chauncey

Myrtice J. Chauncey, 95, of Live Oak, Fla., passed away at her home on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2020, with her family at her side. Mrs. Chauncey, a lifelong Suwannee County resident, was born to the late John Edward Jordan and Bessie Whiddon Jordan on Feb. 12, 1925. She worked for the North Florida Telephone Company for many years, first as a switchboard operator then, in later years and until retirement, in the front office where she became known to many as the lady at the drive thru where people, in those days, went to pay their monthly phone bill. She was married to the late Paul B. Chauncey, Sr. and together they worked and managed their family farm near Falmouth in western Suwannee County, wh
