Michael Wendle Nettles, 61, of McAlpin, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021. The Lake City, Florida-born native lived in McAlpin for 30 years. Nettles loved his country and served in the U.S. Navy for seven years. He was a Godly man and a lifelong member of Live Oak Church of God. Nettles was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, going on cruises, hunting and fishing with his family and working on the family farm with his father, brothers, sons and nephews. Nettles was full of life and was always looking for the next adventure. He was a selfless and kind man who treated everyone he met with the upmost respect and courtesy.
