Live Oak City Council considers renaming building
Rick Patrick reporter3.riverbendnews@gmail.com During its regular meeting on Monday, Sept. 9, the Live Oak City Council discussed the possibility of renaming the old City Hall building after long-time Council Member John W. Yulee. The building, located at 212 Ohio Ave. N, currently houses the Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce. Several community members spoke in favor of renaming the building, noting Yulee's service to the community as a member of the City Council and law enforcement officer. One citizen, a former council member, Lynda Williams, warned against the renaming, stating that it would "open a can of worms" with numerous requests to rename buildings, streets and other landmarks.
