LES student shows appreciation to SRO officer

By Bryant Thigpen Riverbend News In a time where there is civil unrest and hatred expressed against law enforcement, a first grade student at Lafayette Elementary School (LES) took the time to present the school’s resource officer with a gift of appreciation for his hard work and dedication to keeping them safe. “The definition of a hero to this young man is someone who protects our school and students. He walks among us and never looks for praise or glory, he only wishes to protect, serve and save,” said LES Secretary Janna Walker. “You always do what is right and teach the students to do the same.
