For 60 years, Westwood Christian School has impacted students through Christ-centered education, strong academics, and lasting traditions that continue to shape generations. In 1963, Westwood Baptist Church purchased land and planned the construction of an educational wing, which now includes the breezeway, school office, and lunchroom. At the time, the school only offered a kindergarten program under the leadership of the church’s pastor, Ewell Johnson.
During the 1970s, Westwood Christian School continued to grow by expanding grade levels and welcoming additional staff members. By 1979, the school offered classes from preschool through sixth grade. Although c
