First Responder and Friends Special Needs Field Day set for September

Suwannee County Fire Rescue (SCFR), in partnership with Florida Health and the Suwannee High School Allied Health Department, will host a First Responder and Friends Special Needs Field Day on Saturday, Sept. 19, at the First Federal Sportsplex, located at 1201 Silas Dr., in Live Oak.

The event is designed to bring individuals with special needs, their families, first responders and community members together for a day centered around inclusion, friendship and fun. Organizers are inviting the community to come together under the theme “Fun for Everyone. Abilities for All.”

The event will open to the public at 10 a.m., with booth setup beginning at 8 a.m. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy games, prizes, music and other activities while having the opportunity to interact with local first responders and community organizations.

Local businesses and organizations are also encouraged to take part by setting up a booth or table. Organizers are inviting community partners to showcase their services, connect with families and demonstrate their support for inclusion throughout the community.

Having a booth provides businesses and organizations with an opportunity to engage directly with local individuals and families, promote their services or organization and be part of a day focused on fun, friendship and inclusion.

The field day will also provide opportunities for attendees to interact with first responders in a welcoming community setting. The event flyer highlights activities and interactions involving firefighters, law enforcement officers and other community partners, allowing families to connect with those who serve the area.
