Emmett M. Mathis

Emmett M. Mathis, age 83, of Jasper, passed away on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, at his home. Emmett was born on Feb. 13, 1937, to the late Floyd and Nellie Bennett Mathis. Emmett graduated from Jasper High School in 1955, and soon after, joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country. Retired Master Sgt. Mathis made a career in the Air Force for 23 years. Upon retirement, he returned to his childhood hometown and went to work at the Valdosta Daily Times in the circulation department.
