Families and friends from all over gathered at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Mayo on Saturday, April 18, for the “Music in the Park.”
Being the fourth of its kind, the event, hosted by Oasis Church of Branford, began at noon and was open to attendees of all ages.
Music in the Park featured live music performed by local artists, children’s games and activities, and gift bags.
According to Pastor Jim Hurst, an estimated 250 people were present at the event’s peak, when free meals were provided, including smoked Boston butt and chicken with sides. Hurst also noted approximately 600 snow cones were served throughout the event.
