Suwannee County will mark a historic milestone on Saturday, March 21, with the dedication of the Liberty Tree as part of the America250 celebration.
The dedication will begin at 11 a.m. at Heritage Park and Gardens, located at 1004 Helvenston Ave., and is expected to last less than an hour. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will feature a Revolutionary Color Guard dressed in period attire, along with several guest speakers. Live Oak Mayor Frank Davis will deliver the welcome address. Additional speakers include members of the Florida State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Suwannee County Historian Eric Musgrove, and Suwannee County School Board Chairman Ed daSilva.
The dedication is being held in conjunction with Heritage Park and Gardens and the Florida Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Parking for the event will be available at the rear of the gardens, and can be accessed by turning down Crossen Avenue Southeast off Helvenston Street Southeast. Signage will be posted to help direct attendees to the designated area.
