Celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day

Leah Androski [email protected] More than 38 million Americans hunt and fish regularly. On the fourth Saturday of every September, National Hunting and Fishing (NHF) Day is celebrated. In 1972, President Richard Nixon signed a Presidential proclamation on NHF Day. This holiday brings sportsmen and women from around the U.S. together to celebrate hunting, sport shooting and fishing. This day recognizes the generations of sportsmen/women for their donations to conservation of the United States’ hunting and fishing traditions. There are different ways to participate in NHF Day. Some ways include: joining a NHF event, visiting a wildlife museum or going hunting or fishing.
