Branford High School student’s artwork displayed at State Capitol

Jason Futch reporter2@riverbendnews.org Branford High School seventh-grade student Avery Finch was scrolling through her photos in search of inspiration for a drawing when she came across a photo of herself. Using that image as a reference, Finch created a drawing she titled “That Girl.” Now, the artwork is on display at the Florida State Capitol Building in Tallahassee during the 2026 legislative session. Finch said she originally had not planned to submit the drawing to the Art in the Capitol contest.
