Allen Ray Buchanan

Allen Ray Buchanan, 87, of Mayo, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at the Suwannee Emergency Center in Live Oak, Fla. Ray was born Aug. 8, 1933, in Mayo to Allen Augustus Buchanan and Osie Mae Turlington Buchanan. He served in the United States Army reaching the rank of Corporal. He was of the Church of Christ faith and a member of Spring Warrior Church of Christ near Perry. He farmed most of his life, raising hogs, cows and chickens, but also owned and operated several businesses as well. He was a bulldozer operator, operated the Bay/Chevron/Standard Oil Filling Stations, ran a sawmill and drove a school bus. He was an active member of the community serving as a town council member,
