$40 million awarded throughout state to expand workforce education programs in Florida

On Tuesday, Sept. 30, Florida Department of Education (FDOE) Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas awarded $40 million through the Workforce Development Capitalization Incentive Grant Program (Workforce CAP) to expand workforce education programs with a focus on in-demand industries.
This latest investment strengthens 49 programs statewide, increasing workforce capacity for awarded programs by 59 percent. With this round of funding, the state’s total investment in workforce education initiatives under Workforce CAP has reached $240 million since its inception in 2023, reinforcing Florida’s commitment to building a highly skilled workforce
