$20 ECG screenings offered for Hamilton student-athletes

Ady Kinsley Riverbend News Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death in student-athletes, most of which is completely preventable. Beginning on Wednesday, July 1, all student-athletes entering grades 9 through 12 are required to have an electrocardiogram (ECG) on file before participating in any school sports. The organization Who We Play For (WWPF), in collaboration with Hamilton County High School (HCHS), will be providing $20 ECG heart screenings for students on Thursday, July 16. From noon to 3 p.m., WWPF will be on the HCHS campus, located at 5683 U.S. 129 N., in Jasper. These screenings are quick and effective, taking only around five minutes. All parents are encou
