Young minds shine in Lafayette Elementary science showcase

Alicia Prine Contributor On Thursday, April 30, Lafayette Elementary School (LES) held its annual Science Fair Showcase. According to Alicia Prine, fifth-grade science teacher at LES, second and fourth-grade students have been preparing their projects since January. Second-grade winners were: Auwstyn Taver, first place; Kyren Mandot, second place; Wyatt Hurst, third place; and Garrison Byrd, honorable mention. Fourth-grade students competed in three categories: Earth Science, Physical Science and Life Science. Fourth-grade Earth Science winners were: Mason Burghart, first place; Karoline Beach, second place; Aubriella Mroczkowski, third place; and Brantley Bass, honorable menti
