White Springs Town Council approves interlocal agreement with the county

Jason Futch reporter2@riverbendnews.org The White Springs Town Council met for its regular board meeting on Thursday, Nov. 13, at Town Hall. During the meeting, an interlocal agreement regarding Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and fire protection was approved. The agreement was discussed between the town council and the Hamilton County Board of County Commissioners during a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 4. At the end of the meeting, both the council and the commissioners agreed to the wording of the agreement. “They finally agreed to take over the fire department and EMS,” Town Manager Lee Garner said. “When we sign the agreement tonight, it takes effect tomorrow, but full service
