The Hamilton County High School (HCHS) Trojans football team has found a new head coach in Fabian Reid, who will lead the program for the 2025-26 school year, marking a significant change for the program.
Reid, who is from White Springs and is a product of the Hamilton County School District, took advantage of the opportunity after graduating from Shorter University in Rome, Ga., after seeing the vacancy. Reid was a defensive lineman while playing for the Shorter University Hawks.
“It truly is an honor,” Reid said. “It is time to bring a culture to HCHS that we can win and excel in anything we do.”
The 2025-26 season will be Reid’s first year serving as a football coach, and he hopes to bring some of the things that he learned from college to help bring a winning program to Hamilton County. “Why can’t I bring the college mentality to the team?” Reid said.
As he plans to change the culture of the football program, Reid comes in with a young team, which he hopes will utilize their strengths. In the offseason, he hopes to build a plan that will incorporate their strengths, identify problems that need to be corrected, and overall, will help bring the Trojans to higher ground. Reid considers the upcoming season their “Genesis.”
“We’ve got to lay the foundation for success,” Reid said. “We are looking to step up and stand out.”
Reid offered words to the teams that plan to face off against the Trojans during the upcoming season: “We are coming, and the teams we play better get ready.”
