Veterans crosses line the streets of local cities

Christian Peterson  reporter.riverbendnews@gmail.com Another Memorial Day has come and passed, and memories of those who have given everything for this country are fresh in everyone's minds. The counties and municipalities in the Suwannee River area all take this time to make a very public declaration of their love for our Veterans. Crosses line the streets across the towns of Suwannee, Hamilton and Lafayette. Each cross lists the name of a Veteran, as well as the branch of the military in which they served. A black bar is across the top of the cross if that Veteran has passed away. It's a simple but effective way to remind everyone about the price that freedom costs.
