On Saturday, Sept. 3, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) struck and killed an Old Town man walking with his bicycle along US 27 in Suwannee County.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 48-year-old female from O’Brien was driving an SUV south on US 27 north of County Road 137, in Hildreth, around 8:40 p.m., when she struck a 56-year-old man from Old Town in the southbound lane.
Emergency responders pronounced the man deceased at the scene. FHP is continuing to investigate the incident.
