Employees with the Tallahassee Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy (TOSPT), along with Live Oak city officials and members of the Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce, came together on Thursday, Jan. 30, to celebrate the opening of TOSPT’s Live Oak office.
The festivities began with a ribbon cutting, followed by a meet-and-greet inside the office, which had physical therapy equipment and machines that help patients needing to rehab sports injuries, as well as those who may need orthopedic assistance. Cookies and soft drinks were served.
According to its website, TOSPT has been helping patients since 1988 and has locations in Live Oak, Crawfordville and Tallahassee.
Teresa Adams, clinic director at TOSPT, said Live Oak was seen as a central location for the company to bring their practice after years of service in Madison. “After Hurricane Idalia damaged our facility in Madison, we sought a more centralized location where we can help the communities nearby,” Adams said.
The practice will provide physical therapy, post-op rehab, and general strengthening services. It is also certified to do vestibular rehab for issues related to balance and vertigo.
“I like to say that we treat people from 9 months to 99 years,” Adams said.
The Suwannee County Chamber of Commerce has also welcomed the practice with open arms. “The opening of TOSPT here in our community gives our residents another opportunity to receive services here in Live Oak,” Chamber Executive Director Danielle Hampton said. “It allows the patients who may need services not to have to travel out of our area to get the help they need. All the therapists at the office are very excited to be here in Suwannee County and to help make a difference for their patients.”
TOSPT is located at 1431 Ohio Ave. N, in Live Oak. Its offices are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.
