Bethel Creek Baptist Church invites the community to a free gospel concert featuring Southern Gospel trio The Hyssongs on Sunday, Feb. 22, beginning at 6 p.m. The concert is open to the public and admission is free. A love offering will be taken during the service, but it is not required.
The Hyssongs are a family group consisting of Dell, Susan and Richard Hyssong, who travel full-time in music ministry. According to their website, their performances feature family vocal harmony, humor and brass instruments, including trumpet and trombone, with a Christ-centered message presented through music. The group’s classical music background and distinct harmony structures contribute to their signature Southern Gospel sound.
The trio has been singing together as a family for more than 28 years and has received multiple accolades within the Southern Gospel music community. In 2014, The Hyssongs were named Favorite New Trio at the Singing News Fan Awards during the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Since that time, they have consistently been voted among the Top 10 Trios of the Year.
Their music is regularly heard on Southern Gospel radio stations and SiriusXM’s EnLighten channel, with several songs reaching No. 1 on the Singing News Radio Charts, including “There Is A God,” “Choose Life,” “Run The Race,” “I Tell Them Jesus” and “Let The Hallelujahs Ring.”
The Hyssongs perform at more than 225 events annually across the United States and Canada, appearing in churches, auditoriums and other venues. They have performed at major events and locations such as the National Quartet Convention, Renfro Valley’s All-Night Sing, Dollywood and Silver Dollar City, and have also ministered internationally through Compassion International.
