The Arc held its Annual Awards Banquet at the Suwannee County Coliseum on Thursday, Jan. 30.
The event was held to honor the accomplishments of the staff and volunteers while also treating the participants with awards. The attendees were treated to a dinner of chicken and green beans prepared by Arc volunteer “Chuckwagon” Chuck Anderson. Prior to dinner, Wyman Clark provided the invocation. For dessert, a variety of cakes were ready. A door prize drawing for the staff and volunteers at The Arc was held, where 32 prizes were presented.
The first award was the Rest Area Attendant of the Year award, presented by Bobby Cason and Angie Smith. This year, there were two winners: Cheryl Boles and Barteena Lumpkin.
The award for Adult Day Training Direct Services Personnel, presented by Lakeisha Williams, was given to Jennifer Ford.
The award for Residential Direct Services Personnel, presented by Danielle Thompson, was given to Amy Bilyeu.
Adam Bricker presented the Arc Presidential Award. The winner of this year’s award went to Adult Day Training Manager Lakeisha Williams.
Executive Director of The Arc, Beverly Standridge, presented three awards. The first award was the Group Volunteer of the Year award, which was given to the Ladies of the Eastern Star Live Oak Chapter.
The Individual Volunteer award was presented to Anderson, who was unable to accept the award. His wife, Sheena Reddy, received the award in his place.
Finally, the Community Supporter of the Year award was presented to Pilgrim’s Pride, which supplied The Arc with donated chicken throughout the year.
