Terry “Donell” Gwinn was a bigger-than-life individual who made a name for himself in Suwannee County. Alongside his brothers, Clifford and the late Robert, Jr., Donell started Gwinn Brothers Farm over 40 years ago, which cultivated peanuts, watermelons, soybeans, corn and peas. Farming and tilling the 1,137-acre land in McAlpin, Donell’s efforts led him to become a trailblazer in sustainable agriculture.
On Wednesday, Aug. 6, Donell passed away, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, determination and integrity which has been felt by many in Suwannee County’s agricultural community, as well as the county as a whole. Condolences
