The Live Oak City Council’s Tuesday, Dec. 9, meeting opened with approval of the agenda before City Manager Larry Sessions invited council members to the front of the room to recognize several individuals for their service and community involvement.
Sessions first acknowledged the retirement of Joanne Luther, a longtime city employee who served 39 years as Head of Finance and retired on Friday, Dec. 19. He expressed appreciation for her guidance and loyalty to the City of Live Oak.
He then recognized Detective Jeremy Cheshire for leading fundraising efforts for Live Oak Police Officer Christopher Davis, who was injured on his last day of training.
