Tennessee creates domestic violence offender registry – will Florida?

Tennessee's Savanna's Law took effect in 2026. This new law established the state's Persistent Domestic Violence Offender Registry, a searchable public registry by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Savanna's Law gets its name from Savanna Puckett, a 22-year-old Robertson County Deputy Sheriff who was murdered by an ex-boyfriend. The man, who had a long history of domestic violence and stalking, shot her eight times and set her home on fire. Puckett was unaware the ex-boyfriend had a violent history. Her family only learned it once it was uncovered during the investigation.
