Teacher’s union president speaks of challenges in state education

Andrew Spar is a veteran teacher, having taught students in Volusia County since 1994. Throughout his career, he had the opportunity to become a union leader, starting with the Volusia United Educators. He then became a member of the Florida Education Association (FEA). After serving two years as the organization’s vice president, Spar has served the last five as the association’s president.
Hamilton County School Superintendent Lee Wetherington-Zamora spoke during the event, highlighting some of the work the school district has done to ensure students have a successful future.[/cap
