More than 120 golfers teed off under clear skies during the Rotary Club of Branford's Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held on Saturday, March 1, at Quail Heights Country Club in Lake City. The day-long event featured an 18-hole scramble along with a variety of contests set up throughout the course.
The tournament, which is organized each year by the Rotary Club of Branford, helps raise funds to support local students and community programs. Proceeds benefit scholarships for Branford High School graduates and the Take Stock in Children program, as well as several of the organization's service initiatives. These include Donuts with Dads, disaster relief efforts, preparation of Thanksgiving food baskets, teacher appreciation efforts, providing support for Veterans and deployed soldiers, and sponsorships for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), among others.
"The Branford Rotary Club is a vibrant and active organization dedicated to making a lasting impact on our community," said Rotarian Jenny Lloyd. "We believe investing in education and literacy is one of the most powerful ways to build a stronger future for our community."
The Rotary Club would like to express its gratitude for the generous support of the event's Gold and Blue Hole sponsors. "Their commitment and kindness empower us to continue the meaningful work we do," Lloyd added. "Thank you for standing with us and helping the Rotary Club of Branford make a difference!
