The Suwannee River Breast Cancer Awareness Association is preparing for its annual Open Bass Tournament at Sandy Point Restaurant in Branford. The event, which started in 2011, was born in the minds of three fishermen while they were leisurely fishing along the Suwannee River. The men were discussing how cancer had directly affected their families; the financial burdens, the sacrifices that had to be made, and how life-changing their experiences had been to them and their loved ones.
