Suwannee Springcrest Elementary hosts toy drive

Grace McAlister reporter1@riverbendnews.org Suwannee Springcrest Elementary (SSE) heard about Pine Island Elementary School’s (PIES) struggles through a former employee, Wendy Stevens, whose daughter-law teaches there. The SSE Student Lighthouse Team decided to do a toy drive after Stevens explained to them that all of the students at Pine Island had supplies and the necessities, but lost toys and other items which brought them joy. “Our Student Lighthouse Team has a great deal of empathy and suggested the toy drive,” event organizer Theda Roper said. The Toy Drive started on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and at the time of writing this article, the school has received about 600 donations. Do
