During the Eagle, Globe and Anchor (EGA) ceremony, a tradition that signifies a recruit’s transformation into a Marine, the reality of his accomplishment finally set in. “My thoughts during the EGA ceremony were, ‘This is surreal’,” Leon said. “The goal I’ve been working towards for so long, I finally achieved.
