The Suwannee County Jail recently received its fifth accreditation award from the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission (FCAC).
Since 2004, the Suwannee County Jail, which is maintained by the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), has received accreditation several times through the commission. It recently achieved renewed accreditation in 2022 during a conference in St. Augustine.
At the FCAC Commission Meeting, which was held at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine on Tuesday, Feb. 18, and Wednesday, Feb. 19, the committee awarded the Suwannee County Jail its fifth accreditation award. In attendance were SCSO Chief Deputy Buddy Williams, along with SCSO Detention Administrators Cpt. Carver, Lt. Williams and Lt. Walker.
“Our Detention Center strives for professionalism and is a model of efficiency,” Williams said.
The SCSO also wished to thank the detention staff for maintaining the jail. “Your hard work and dedication have made this achievement possible,” the SCSO shared in a post on social media regarding the award.
