The Suwannee County Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Committee came together for its annual day of events on Monday, Jan. 19. The theme this year was “Building a community, uniting a nation the nonviolent way.”
The festivities began at 10 a.m. with the annual MLK Day parade, which featured participants ranging from first responders to churches and community groups. As the Suwannee High School marching band, Sound of Suwannee, marched to its signature sounds, the parade was led by Grand Marshal Pete Sneed. Following Sneed was Honorary Grand Marshal Lila Udell. Family members joined both honorees throughout the parade.
