Suwannee County Historical Commission receives Branford Women’s Club tablecloth

The Suwannee County Historical Commission made strides in preserving the history of the Branford Women’s Club following its closure in 2021. When the club closed its doors to the public, it donated its historic records to the county museum, along with items that help tell its story.
“The Branford Women’s Club was the hub of everything before the town modernized,” said former member Elaine Nemeth. “Every Friday night, the club hosted a dinner, and everyone came.” Nemeth was referring to the famous “Italian Night” dinners the club regularly hosted, along with other events, such as dances and meetings.
