Suwannee County CERT seeking volunteers

Jason Futch Reporter2.RiverbendNews@gmail.com The Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office Division of Emergency Management is seeking volunteers across the county to join its Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).  CERT assists the community in times of emergency. When storms and natural disasters strike, which in turn devastate the community, the CERT team provides vital assistance and support to those affected. The team also provides support to storm shelters and includes community outreach during special events and festivals.  To be a part of the CERT team, prospective volunteers must pass a background check and be willing to provide support in emergencies.
