The Suwannee County Administration Office has relocated back to its old neighborhood, 12 years after moving just outside of Live Oak. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the office moved to its new location at 224 Pine Ave., near the Suwannee County Jail. The move had been in the works for some time now. “Historically, the County Administration was down “We still have tweaks to make but overall, the move has worked out very well and we are getting better every day.” at this location,” County Administrator Greg Scott said. “When I accepted the County Administrator position, I wanted to be accessible to the public.” In 2013, the office moved from downtown to the Public Works facility at the Suwannee County Airport. At the time, it was a cost-cutting measure. Now that the office has reorganized, Scott said it was time to relocate back to downtown Live Oak. “We had a little pause due to Debby and Helene,” Scott said, referencing the two hurricanes that caused significant damage to the community. Scott also emphasized that the county commissioners had wanted to make this move for some time as well. Now that the office is back downtown, Scott is glad that the county can be more accessible to the public. The Suwannee County Administration Office is located at 224 Pine Ave., in Live Oak, and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
