The Suwannee Bicycle Association (SBA) is an easily missed organization in the Suwannee Valley area, not because it's a small group but because its members are usually deep in the natural world, enjoying the beauty around them. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t assisting with events for all kinds of people to enjoy. Recently, the group put out a request for those interested in volunteering opportunities. Some of the events that the SBA puts on or helps with include the Florida Trail FEST from Friday, Feb. 7 to Sunday, Feb. 9, historic property signage installation, the Florida Folk Festival, the Sugar Cane Festival and a plethora of fundraisers. Not to mention, the group participates in the world-famous IDIDARIDE. Now, as the SBA grows, it is continually looking for new ways to increase its impact in the community. Individuals interested in volunteering or becoming a member of the SBA can reach out to Sharon Shea at sharonallen.shea@gmail.com. “We’ve got a big year ahead of us,” the organization wrote in a Facebook post. “It would be wonderful to increase our board members. Reach out if you are interested or if you have any ideas as we move into 2025. Hope to see you there! Not a member? Now is a great time to join!”
