Suwannee and Branford dominate district girls’ weightlifting meet

By Rick Patrick Riverbend News The Suwannee High School (SHS) Lady Bulldogs and the Branford High School (BHS) Lady Buccaneers weightlifting teams dominated the recent Class 1A District Four weightlifting meet. The meet was held at SHS on Friday, Jan. 22. Between the two teams, they took first place in each of the different weight classes. In the 101 pound weight class, Lady Bulldog Aislinn Henry took first place with a 115 pound bench press and a 140 pound clean and jerk lift, for a total of 255 pounds Macy Bowers, from SHS took third place with a bench press of 105 pounds and a clean and jerk of 115 pounds for a total of 220 pounds.
