Stolen family heirloom sought in Lafayette County

The heirloom, a 60-gallon Chattanooga Plow Company syrup kettle, was taken from property on South Lusitania Road in Mayo. The heavy cast-iron kettle, which measures approximately 51 inches across and bears a stamped "60," has been in the Snider family for generations. Andrew Snider said the kettle was inherited from his father, John William Snider, who acquired it in the early 1950s.
