Approximately 2.6 million Stanley products have been recalled for "potential burn hazards." This recall includes all Stanley Switchback and Trigger Action stainless steel travel mugs that have been sold in the U.S. These mugs were sold in white, black and green colors. The sizes sold were 12 ounces, 16 ounces and 20 ounces, with a polypropylene lid. The product identification number can be found on the bottom of the mug. For the Switchback and Trigger Action, consumers with any of these product identification numbers should return them to Stanley for a free replacement. - Switchback: 12 oz.: 20-01437 and/or 16 oz.: 20-01436, 20-02211. - Trigger Action: 12 oz.: 20-02033, 20-02779, 20-02825, 16 oz.: 2002030, 20-02745, 20-02957 and/or 20 oz.: 20-02034, 20-02746. The U.S. Consumer Protection Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that the lids can shrink when exposed to heat, which can cause the lid to detach, raising a potential burn hazard when in use. There have been 91 worldwide reports of detaching lids while in use, which have caused 38 burn injuries, with 11 of those people needing some medical attention. These Stanley mugs were sold at various stores, including Amazon, Dick's Sporting Goods, Target and Walmart, from June 2016 through December 2024, ranging in price from $20 to $50. Customers are encouraged to stop using the mugs and contact Stanley to receive a free replacement.
