The Spring Fling Car Show & Backyard BBQ Cook-off is coming to White Springs on Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Suwannee Hardware & Feed, located at 10572 Bridge St.
The car show will feature classic and custom cars from across the region competing for multiple awards. The event, sponsored by Precision Paint & Body, will include Sponsor's Choice awards for best of show, best custom, most original, best motorcycle, and best rat rod.
The People’s Choice award will include awards for antique car, muscle car, modern classic, antique truck, modern truck and modern car.
Those wishing to participate must pay a $20 donation fee. Registration will begin at 9 a.m.
The Backyard BBQ Cook-off will feature amateur backyard teams competing for bragging rights and prizes. Tastings will be judged on flavor, tenderness and overall quality. The competition will include three categories: ribs, chicken and pork.
The contest is open exclusively to backyard cooks; professional teams are not eligible to participate.
Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category. The overall winner of the competition will also have their name added to the championship belt.
There will also be a 50/50 raffle drawing, with the first 50 entrants receiving a dash plaque for their participation. Door prizes will also be available during the event.
Proceeds from the Spring Fling Car Show & Backyard BBQ Cook-off will benefit the local food bank.
