Scalloping season is open!

Leah Androski reporter3.riverbendnews@gmail.com The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) announced the starting dates for the 2025 scalloping season. Bay scallop season kicked off in the Fenholloway— Suwannee River Zone on Sunday, June 15, then in the Franklin— NW Taylor County and the Levy, Citrus and Hernando Counties zone bay scallop dates start on Tuesday, July 1. The Pasco zone starts on Thursday, July 10, and the Gulf County zone will kick off on Saturday, Aug. 16.  This following information has been found on the FWC website and includes bay scallop season harvesting information for every zone.
