Riverbend News owner shares story before the Live Oak Rotary Club

Five years after launching Riverbend News, Cheltsie Holbrook stood before the Live Oak Rotary Club on Monday, Aug. 11. Before the local Rotarians, Holbrook talked about the early beginnings of the paper following the closure of the Suwannee Democrat during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“When the rumor started going around the Suwannee Democrat shut its doors, my mom started getting many, many phone calls asking if we could expand our newspaper into this area,” she said. Her mother and owner of Greene Publishing in Madison, Emerald Greene, was already operating two local newspapers in Madison County, along with an additional paper in Jefferson
